Double Date Fun: Pumpkin Picking - F&W Schmitts Family Farm - Melville, Long Island - Saturday, 10/25/2014

Her Take: So I always bug Nicky every fall to take me pumpkin picking because, duh, it's fall. and also I loveeeeee pumpkins!!! (and yea pumpkin spice everything please!) I'm white.
This year, we went with my dear friend Lee and her Boyfriend Dan to Schmidt Family Farms in Long Island. We had a great time!
The weather was warm that day and we all melted as we got there, we took our coats and sweaters off and left them in the car. Didn't feel much like fall, damnit global warming.
Our first stop was the corn maze! Lee loves corn and thought about sneaking a few cobs into her pockets, but she did not. It was fun, and a little muddy, but we got out nicely!
Next we went to pick our pumpkins, the farm has a huge pumpkin patch full of pumpkins (obvs) and we didn't know where to start. We got wayyyy too many pumpkins and I don't even know why. Nicky got 4 extra, 3 for his cousins and 1 for his brother. And I got one really big one, just for me   >:-) (He's the nice one)
So in total we had like 45409 lbs in pumpkins and they were all cute and round and fat!!! Lee and Dan got two big pumpkins too!
The farm also has a haunted house that we wanted to try out so Lee and I sent the boys to put the pumpkins in the car, mostly to watch them suffer as they carried 423489324 pumpkins, there were no wagons left muahaha, but there was a nice family who let us borrow their wagon in turn for the girlfriends. That sounds creepy but basically to make sure we didn't steal their wagon, we had so stay with the family.. They ended up being funny and told us they left us here they needed an excuse to get away, since the boys took SO LONG to put the pumpkins away!!!
Finally they came back, we headed for the haunted house, Lee is terrified of haunted houses but the lady who worked there told us that first of all the sun is out and its bright as hell, and second of all there's no people to jump out and scare you since it's early. So we went and Lee screamed the whole time because some creepy kid followed us the whole way through, LOLOL after leaving the not-scary-at-all haunted house, some guy, who I don't even think was trying to scare us, with a chainsaw saw Lee got scared and screamed so he scared her even more and she then proceeded to scream "OH MY GOD HE'S GONNA KILL US!!!!" with tears streaming down her face. That was no joke. she honestly was scared and it made my life. Made the entire sweaty trip worth it. I am a terrible friend (no i'm not) :)))
Anyway we had a great time!! The farm isn't all that, I've been to better, but this one was close. It was just a big field. But I enjoyed it nonetheless!
